In facebook, it is very easy to control/hack the news feed. We are free to add our friends to the list of people whose news feed we don't wanna see much.

Many times our page looks clumsy with the news of all our friends, their posts, etc. And if we have larger number of friends under in our friend list, the problem becomes worse. Facebook's news feed is generated by the algorithm known as the edgerank

But the good news is that we can easily control the friends whose news we wanna see less.

• Then just select the friends to add up to your acquintance list and then click the button "Add TO Acquintances"
  
  Acquaintances: The Acquaintances list is for friends we would want to see less of in our News Feed. When we add a friend to Acquaintances list, their posts will appear less frequently in our News Feed.

Now for seeing a particular type of facebook page more, just click on the down arrow in the upper right corner of any FB page you like and then choose News Feed Preferences and after it, select Prioritize Who To See First and then on the drop down menu choose Pages only.

Then click on the new pages you just added to your stream — along with the other valuable news sources you think help keep you informed. This will help you to get linked with the desired type of fb pages which can help you to enhance your knowledge without wasting your time.
